Delphine Comer Marshall, daughter of the late Truman and Grace Comer, was born on May 4th, 1937. She departed this earthly life on September 24th, resting peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones in her home in Liberty, NC.
Delphine was raised in Beulah, NC, and graduated from Sedalia High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served on the usher board and was also a Sunday school teacher to the youth. She worked at Liberty Veneer and Quality Veneer for over 4 decades, where she made many friends and eventually retired.
Delphine was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Truman and Mrs. Grace Comer, her daughter Robin Marshall, and siblings CT Comer and Carolyn Comer.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Phileathea (Thomas) of Randleman NC, her son Dean (Jean) of Liberty NC, her daughter Laflaira of Liberty NC, her son Chauncey (Kelly) of Monroe NC, her grandchildren Brendell of Liberty NC, Daisy (Tammy) of Liberty NC, Jamonica of Liberty NC, JaQuan of Liberty NC. Jessica (Darrington) of Greensboro, NC, Rosita (Jason) of Liberty, NC, and Omar (BJ) of Liberty, NC. She also leaves behind her beloved great and great-great grandchildren Alexis, Haisley, Naveah, Omar Jr., Xavier, and Xavier Jr., as well as her siblings, whom she has always been close to; Betty Matthews of Siler City, NC, Jimmy (Caroline) of Greensboro NC and Toni Green of Julian NC. Delphine also has a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends from her community Liberty Village that will miss her dearly.
