Hersie Butler Hooker

Hersie Butler Hooker departed this earthly life on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Hersie was a licensed Cosmetologist.  She was married to the late Edward Leon Hooker Sr.

To this union were born five children: predeceased son, Edward "Ed" Hooker Jr (Kimberly), Alan Hooker (Wendy), Michelle Hooker-Ravenell (Darrell), Laura Hooker Jackson (Vincent) and Teri Hooker.

Hersie also leaves cherished memories to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Butler; two sisters, Clara Shoffner and Linda McCall; sisters-in-law, Betty Ruth Hooker, Rosetta Reaves, Eleanora Harris.

Hersie was preceded in death by siblings Gilbert Butler, Marie Tinnin, Annie Goldston.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at McCleave Enrichment Center at Edwards Grove Baptist Church, 214 S. Foster Street, Liberty, NC. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, Oct. 8, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Kimes Funeral Service, 102 S. Kirkman St, Liberty, NC.
