Katie Norwood Johnson was born, April 8th, 1938, to the late Robert Junior Norwood and Corrina Lucille Norwood in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
In her early years (1950) she relocated to Randleman, North Carolina. She attended Trinity Elementary School and completed her education at William Penn High School in High Point, North Carolina.
She later met and married Kermit R. Johnson Sr. and was happily married for 41 years until the time of his death. To that union they had four wonderful children.
Her Christian faith was strong In the Lord and she loved to read her Bible. Katie always tried to guide her children to the best of her knowledge how to pray and serve the Lord. Some of her enjoyments in life were fishing, family gatherings working with her flowers in the yard! Also canning and freezing vegetables from the garden. She loved to watch her favorite Soap Operas and game shows.
Katie always wanted to be a nurse because of her desire to help people. In 1974 she became a C.N.A. at Clapps Nursing Center of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, where she worked for 15 years until her retirement.
Katie leaves to cherish all the beautiful memories, one daughter, Janet Laughlin of Greensboro, NC; three sons, Kermit Johnson, Jr, Davie Johnson of both Greensboro, NC, Michael (Nancy) Johnson of Randleman, NC; two sisters, Cladie Blowe (Ernest) of Pleasant Garden, NC Mable Grisson (Michael) of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Clyde Norwood (Catharen) of Pleasant Garden, NC one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Norwood of Greensboro, NC one brother-in-law, Cletis Johnson (Barbara Jean) of Randleman, NC; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; also a very special friend and neighbor Lynn Hipp of Greensboro.
