NIESHA BROOKS SYDNOR

ALABAMA – Niesha Shavon Brooks Sydnor (NeNe), formerly of Siler City, was born on March 5, 1988, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Therese Brooks and the late Johnnie Woodie. She entered eternal life on April 2, 2023, at the age of 35 years old.

NeNe was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her children and family. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, visiting the casino, going to the movies with her children and riding her three- wheeler. Nene was employed for 5 years at Georgiana Health and Rehab but had finally landed the job of her dreams at Evergreen Hospital. In addition to the above, Nene was an entrepreneur with her own apparel business.

NeNe was preceded in death by her father Johnnie Woodie and a brother, Quantez Farrish.

Niesha is survived, by her husband, Gerald Sydnor; her mother, Theresa Brooks, Siler City, North Carolina; four children: Dyveon Busch, Ashlee Gilliam, Serenity Brooks of Sanford, North Carolina and Amariana Cobb of Georgiana, Alabama; a devoted friend, Mario Cobb of Alabama; two sisters, Yasmin Newby, and Tahesha Brooks Headen and her husband Yasin Headen  both of Siler City, North Carolina; two brothers, Daniel Spinks of Ramseur, North Carolina and Darrell Woodie of Asheboro, North Carolina grandparents, Michael and Patricia Brower, her great-grandmother, Josephine Brooks; three aunts, Amanda Brooks-Benson and her husband Al Benson of Mebane, North Carolina, Demetria Wallace and her husband Ian Wallace of Phoenix, Arizona, Anissa Barrow and her husband Dave Barrow of Brooklyn New York; seven great aunts, one great uncle, godmother, Brenda Kelly; two god sisters, Mesha and Okema Kelly, Lifelong best friend, Nikki Bell of Sanford, North Carolina; four nieces, one nephew, and a host of cousins.
