Reverend Steven Douglas White was born in Siler City, North Carolina on February 21st, 1954, to Annie Jean and Walter Thomas White. He was one of eleven children.
He attended Siler City Schools and took courses in Blueprint Comprehension at Guilford Community College.
He was married to his loving wife for forty-seven years. To this union three children was born, Derez, Brandon and Kimberly. He loved his entire family dearly.
Reverend White was a Minister in the Church of God of Prophecy. He loved going to church and participating in the Sunday School Department, Music and loved preaching and ministering to others. He was a dedicated musician in the following churches in North Carolina: Braggtown Durham, Eastside, Stanton Place, Liberty, Thirteenth Street, Gees Grove A.M.E. Zion, and River of Life.
Reverend White was a Master Brick mason taught under his father-in-law, Reverend Frank Scotton. He later started a business with Willie White eventually became owner of S.W. Masonry.
Finally, he partnered with his brother, Michael. They worked on many projects which included foundations, houses, mailboxes, walkways, apartments buildings drainage structures for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Approximately ten years ago his health began to decline, and he departed this life on June 23rd, 2021. He endured his sickness with great strength and dignity.
He leaves to mourn his devoted and loving wife , Rebecca White of the home; two sons, Steven Derez (Yateesha) White of High Point, NC and Brandon (Armecia) White of Greensboro, NC; one daughter, Kimberly White of Ramseur, NC; six loving grandchildren, Bryanna, Jaden, Justin, AJ, Bryson, and Israel; brothers, Danny (Brenda) White, Graham, NC and Michael (Renata) White, Whitsett, NC; sisters, Janice Gray, Pittsboro, NC, Diane (Jerry) Taylor, Whitsett, NC, Teresa Lynch, Bear Creek, NC, Levonda (Joey) Farrar, Siler City, NC, Regina Palmer, Bear creek, NC, Pamela White, Siler City, NC, Karen (Myron) Miller, Siler City, NC and Terri (Dominic) Ettson, Whitsett, NC; sisters-in-law, Dr. Jacqueline Joyner (Dr. William Joyner) Henrico, VA, Dr. Gwendolyn Bethea (Ronald) Tacoma Park, MD, Attorney Gail Baylor (Orlando) Stone Mountain, GA, Dr. Teresa Williams, deceased (Newman)Broken Arrow, OK; brothers-in-law, Charles Scotton, Washington DC, Attorney Richard Scotton (Andrea) Silverspring, MD; extended family members: Rose Scotton and Frances Scotton.
