On Monday, April 25th, 2022, Roger Junior Patterson known to many as Toofie quietly drifted away to be with the Lord in Greensboro, North Carolina; knowing he was loved by his loved ones until the very end. Roger was born July 29th, 1956, to Mary “Mag” Patterson Bynum and Roger Smith who preceded him in death.
Roger became a solider in the United States Army in 1973, later he moved back closer to home in Greensboro, North Carolina. He greatly appreciated good music and could move crowds doing what he did best singing Gospel Music. He also loved being known for being the best dressed man in the room. He cared for his cars, his Westerns and his action movies.
Roger was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Smith, Doug Smith, and Jeff Smith.
Roger is survived by his sons, Marcus Bowden of Liberty and LaRoss Nickerson of Greensboro; grandchildren :twins, Destini and Dominici Bowden, Marcus Bowden Jr, Alexandria Trapp and Roman Trapp; his ex-wife/partner for 28 years, Shelia Trapp; brothers, Ronnie McSwain , Greensboro and Danny Ray McSwain, Greensboro, Harold McSwain, Ramseur, James Smith, Liberty; sisters, Shelia Andrews, Ramseur, Glenda Womack, Greensboro and Sabrina Kelly, Greensboro; aunts, Essie Torain Clapp, Liberty and Annie Patterson, Liberty; uncle, Avon Patterson (Nellie), Liberty; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
