Sharon Comer

Ms. Sharon LaTonya Comer was born on February 2, 1973, to James and the late Joann Comer and raised by the late Donald W. and Betty Matthews.  She transitioned to her heavenly home on December 19, 2022.

At an early age she joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the youth choir. She was also a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church youth choir and attended Jr. Church there. Sharon was a graduate of Jordan Matthews High School in Siler City, NC. Sharon held several positions over the years, with her last being a packer at Tyson Foods in Sanford, NC. She was very skillful with her hands and enjoyed putting things together. Sharon was very generous with her family and friends, always giving with an open heart.

Sharon was preceded in death by Donald W. Matthews, one sister Tabitha Rippy, and one brother James Paul “JP” Comer.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Brittany Comer; her granddaughter Sophia Comer both of the home, Father James (Grace) Comer of Greensboro, NC, Momma Betty Matthews of Siler City, NC, her Grandfather Fred Rippy (Sylvia) of Julian, NC; Three   sisters; Valerie Davis of Siler City, NC, Michele Jones and Phinethia Jones of Greensboro, NC; Three brothers, Reverend Donald A. Matthews (Janice), James Russell of Greensboro, NC, and Nebraska Jones of Montross, VA, Good Friends Gloria “Moon”Alston and Sabrina Person of Siler City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
