The Rev. Wayne Brown transitioned from this life to an eternal one on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
Rev Wayne Matthews Brown was born in Siler City, NC on April 13th, 1961. He was the son of Mr. Henry C. Brown and Presiding Elder Dr. Ocie M. Brown and grew up in Staley, NC. On Saturday, September 17, 2022, Wayne transitioned from this life to an eternal one.
Wayne graduated from Eastern Randolph High School in Ramseur, NC. Wayne was called into the ministry at an early age and served as Assistant Pastor of Holland Chapel AME Zion Church Apex, NC and Olivers' Chapel AME Zion Church (Staley, NC). He then went on to serve as Pastor of Rosehill AME Zion Church (Moncure, NC) Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church and St. John AME Zion Church (Fayetteville, NC) Gees Grove AME Zion Church (Siler City, NC) St. Paul AME Zion Church and Macedonia AME Zion Church (Sanford, NC) Oliver's Chapel AME Zion Church (Staley, NC) and Mt. Zion AME Zion Church (Carthage, NC)
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ocie and his father, Henry. His memory will be cherished by his sister, Gail, his brother, Chris and his nieces and nephews- Jonathan, Jocelyn, Jhante and Amaya. He will be missed by a host of other relatives, and many, many friends.
